GLYPHOSATE IN QUINOA PRODUCTS BY COUNTRY ORIGIN SAMPLES CONVENTIONAL ORGANIC

Unknown 24 0 3

Peru 3 0

Bolivia 8 0 0 Total 35 0 2

Quinoa is a largely a clean grain. This item has made me wonder what “unknown” really means, since this crop is supposed to be from South America while most samples are from “unknown”. I used to think unknown to largely represent Canadian supply that are somehow sold in bulk and are unmarked as to their origin.

I had to google it and found out that Canada started growing a lot of quinoa and acreage under cultivation is constantly growing and moving west from Ontario.

That proves my point, in a way, that Unknown are likely local Canadian produce, but for some strange reason, their country of origin is either missing in the product description, or is being kept hidden for some unfathomable reason.

While the product is still very clean, I wonder if it is going to get dirty in due course. I am getting the impression that Canadian large scale farmers have gotten addicted to the use of glyphosate on everything they grow.
